A Little Tutorial–Colouring Folds with Alcohol Markers & Polychromos/Prismas

I have been asked to do a couple of tutorials over the last couple of weeks so i have decided I would put two together in this little post – Folds and using Polychromos/Prismas with Alcohol Markers.

Before we start just a quick note YOU MUST COMPLETE COLOURING YOUR WHOLE IMAGE BEFORE YOU START TO USE YOUR PENCILS NEVER GO BACK AND ADD MORE COLOUR WITH YOUR ALCOHOL MARKERS. When colouring with any Alcohol Markers always use a light hand to apply, start your first stroke immediately your nib touches the paper, if the nib is left in one pace for just a second it will start to spread, this is where bleeding occurs.

You will need to get together before you start Paper Stumps, Sansodor (Orderless White Spirits) and of course your pencils.

Once again we will use 3 colours Dark Medium & Light, starting with the darkest colour and using thin light stokes add to the inside of the folds (on most stamps it is quite clear where the inside of the folds will be).

Now using your medium colour go over and bring out the further into the image as shown below.

Finally go over the complete image with the lightest colour, once this step has been completed you can then go in and add more depth with your darker colours, blending as you go.

Here is the part that brings your image to life, with a toning pencil a couple of shades darker than you darkest marker add a thin line of colour around where you have used your darkest marker.

Dip your paper stump into your Sansodor (odour less white spirit) if your stump appears very wet absorb some of the spirit with a piece of kitchen towel, again using light strokes bring your pencil out into the images, taking care not to take to far out on the fold lines your image should end up looking like the picture below. If you only have a couple of colours of Polychromos/Prisma pencils and cannot find one to match the area you wish to colour then a light grey gives a really good result.

I have not added any pencil to her shoes but used the same 3 colour markers I think you can see the difference they make.

Gather Together

I sheet of Green Plaid Paper from Nitwits Download Joyful Hearts

Colall Photo Glue from Crafters Companion

Bone folder

Scissors

PLEASE NOTE THAT AT ALL STAGES USE YOUR BONE FOLDER TO CREASE

Cut 4 square from Green Plaid Paper 1 x 2” Sq, 1 x 1.3/4” sq, 1 x 1.1/2” sq, 1 x 1.1/4” sq.

Starting with the 2” Square fold in with patterned side upwards fold in half across the middle of the square,

Open out and turn square around so previous crease is diagonal fold the square in half across the centre again.

Open out square and turn over,so plain side is facing you, then fold in half diagonally to make a triangle. now fold the square in half

Open out square turn around and repeat previous step.

Open up square and fold into triangle as above (you will find it falls easily into this shape if you have used your bone folder on each step).

Now fold both sides of the triangle into the middle, making the same shape as above.

Now repeat all steps on the remaining 3 squares.

Open up the flaps on the 2nd Largest Square and glue largest square on top of the smaller one as shown (cannot think how to explain this more clearly ).

Do the same with the rest of the shapes until you have your tree, cut off the points on the base of the tree.

Colouring Popcorn with Spectrum Noirs & Polychromos Pencils

Hi my effort at a little tutorial for colouring my Favourite bear Popcorn from Crafters Companion, the materials you willl need are:

Spectrum Noir Marker Pens in the following colour

Fur: 107, 36, 134

Ears & Heart: 91

Blanket 26, 109

Rose: 11, 23

Leaf 42

Colouring Pencils (I use Polychromos but Prismas work just as well) Mid Brown and Raw Umber

Prisma Pencils are available at Hobbycraft

Paper Stumps – available from Hobbycraft

Start Colouring:

Start colouring Popcorn’s head using light flicking strokes with 107, (picture 1) then using 36 (picture 2)and light flicking strokes take the colour further out towards the top of the head.

Complete colouring the head and muzzle with 134 (picture 3) making sure to blend colours by starting at the top of the muzzle and lightly flicking 134 right to the top of the head. ( you will find this work best if you use very little pressure when applying the ink). Colour down the edge of the arm and under the head with 107 (picture 4) using the same strokes as for the head

Complete colouring Popcorn in the same colours and using the same method as previously (Picture 5), and colour the girl bear (I have made her head a little lighter than Popcorns by not taking 107 as far up the head. (Picture 6)

Colour blanket with 26 adding 109 for shading (Picture 7), then colour heart and ears with 91 (Picture 8)

Finally colour rose and leaf with 11, 23 42 (picture 9). Your image is now complete but if you would like to add extra depth to your image this can be done by using Coloured Pencils. Apply a thin line of Medium Brown Pencil around the dark edges of Popcorns fur (as in Picture 10), my line is a bit thicker than I would usually make it but I wanted to make sure you could see it.

Using your Paperstump dipped into Sansodor (Odourless White Spirits) blend your pencilled line our into the image using light circular strokes (Picture 11), then add Raw Umber Pencil to the edges of the Blanket and blend out in the same way.

Colours for Mid Brown, Dark Blonde & Blonde Hair with Spectrum Noirs

Another Spectrum Noir question I have been asked a number of times is “What colours do you use for hair” so here are the colours for Mid Brown, Dark Blonde and Blonde hair

On all of these I have started with the darkest first, but these colours should work whatever way you prefer to colour, a little tip for you that I find helps me when I am trying to find colour combos for whatever pens I use, stamp out or print 2 of the images you are working on use one for practise and when you are happy colour the final image, it looks quite funny when you have an image with rainbow coloured hair but this works for me, I then file the image I used for practise with a note of the colours in my colouring folder.

Colours for Mid Brown Hair: 94, 96, 97, 25, 142

Colours for Dark Blonde: 101, 104, 31, 44, 45

Colours for Blonde hair: 44, 35, 37, 38

Slanted Easel card

Had a few request for the Slanted Easel card I made, these are just so simple but effective, I am sure lots of you know how to make these anyway.

I have made this card to face the other way just so you can see how easy it is to ring the changes.

All you need to start is:

A Score Board

Double Sides Tape

A 5.1/2” square Base Card

A square of white card 5.1/2” square.

Your Image, backing papers and embellies

Now you need to score diagonally from corner to corner on the front of your card, use a score board to get a perfect fold, to make sure the corners line up I run a pencil down the scoring line I am going to use, it is much easier than doing it by eye, I think you can pick up the pencil line in the picture below

Fold along scored line and your card should look like this, ( when folding a scored line always make sure you go down the fold a couple of times with your bone folder this gives a really crisp fold).

Now add double sided tap[e down the triangle, on this picture I have only added it to 2 sides you would actually add it to all 3 sides.

Now add the 5.1/2” sq white card to the triangle.

Now its up to you to decorate as you wish.

On this blog I havent really explained how I decorate my cards from start to finish but if you feel that would be helpful leave me a comment.

4 Drawer Card Box - Tutorial

Here is the 4 Drawer Card Box tutorial that lots of you have been asking for, before I start I would like to say that this is not my design I originally made the Box following a tutorial by the fantastically talented Kirsten, but I have altered some of the sizes to make it easier to make on my Martha Stewart Scoreboard. If you have not visited Kirsten's blog I cannot recommend it enough there are some truly stunning creations on there. I have left a message on her blog telling her I would be posting this tutorial.

Here is the finished Box, I have not given details on here on how I decorated the box and card, more info on this will be posted on my Original Blog, I have stuck to basic details of making the box as I am sure you will have your own ideas on how you would like yours to look.

To start cut 2 pieces of heavyweight card (over 300gms) and 2 pieces of lighter weight (220 will do) card 6” square, glue one square of the lightweight card onto the top of the heavyweight card (NOTE; YOU WILL NEED TO USE EXTRA TACKY WET GLUE THROUGHT OUT MAKING THIS BOX), these 2 squares form the top and bottom of your box.

Now we make the Drawers

Cut 4 pieces of card to measure 5” x 4.1/8”

Score 1” in from the edge of all 4 sides on each piece of card

Cut corner as shown above

Spread glue as shown on each corner

Stick corners inside to make an open topped box shape as shown above

Cover the fronts of the drawers with paper of your choice and add a brad (I have actually used Tim Holtzs Hitch Fasteners on mine).

Now Cut 4 strips of card 7.1/4” x 3.1/8”, score and fold along the long side of each strip at 1”, 3.1/8”, 4.1/8”, 6.3/8”

Add glue to the narrow edge to form a cover for your drawer as above.

Now glue drawer onto the bottom square (It is better to do this with the Drawer inside its cover as it makes the whole thing firmer).

Carry on glueing drawers to base as above and below

Add glue to the top of the drawers as shown and attach to the 2nd square to form the top of the box

Your Box is almost finished now

All thats left is to add a base to the top of you box to adhere your card to. I have used a Martha Stewart Round the Corner Punch on a 7” square piece of white card to make the pretty lace edging then added a 6” square of card and a 5.7/8” square of backing paper to match your card.

Make your 5.1/2” card in the usual way and attach to the top of the card.

A New Take on A Stepper Card Template

I have a different shaped card for you today and I have included a little Template although it is not to size.

The card is a different take on a Step Card, sorry the photo is a bit blurred, The image is of course from Lili of the Valley its called “New Hat”, I have used Copics and Prismas to colour the image and added glitter and pearls. The papers are from the Buds and Blossom kit from Nitwits Downloads. The doily is a Die-namic Die from Dies to Die For. The larger MS Border was a last minute addition, I was getting the card ready to photograph when I felt the bottom need a bit of tarting up, I add some lovely buttons and charms from The Hobby House. The flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts.

This great Stamp is by Inkadinkado also available from Dies to Die For, and I hope fits the challenge, it made me smile anyway.

I have forgotten to take a note of the Copics I used so sorry,

Here is a side view of the card.

Now here is the template for you

Start with White card 12” x 8” and mark and score at 1”, 2”, 6” and 7” along both sides, measure 1.1/2” in from each side and draw a line from the 1” to 7” mark as shown, with a sharp craft knife and steel ruler cut down this line, now following the broken lines on photo score at 1”, 2” 7” and 6” marks as shown.

Fold along scored lines and your card should end up looking like the above photo. Now you can decorate to your hearts desire.

Colouring Tilda with Distress Inks Part 2

HAIR AND ACCESSORIES

Colouring the Spoon

The first thing to do is image where the light would hit the spoon this gives your colouring depth,
I have chosen the top of the spoon and the middle, as in all the previous colouring you start by laying down a layer of ink on the image, Tea Dye and Old Paper have been used for the spoon.

Spread your ink with small circular strokes, remembering to clean your brush as you go, it should end up looking like this.

Hair

Lay down a thin line of Frayed Burlap to the hairline next to the scarf and the face.

Remove all traces of ink from you brush and very carefully with small strokes spread the ink out leaving a light area between the top and bottom hairline

Now add just the smallest amount of ink to both areas and around the edge of the hair near the face

Here is how it should look when you have completed all your colouring.

This final step may be difficult to see on the photo but it really important to make your image stand out, using Old Photo ink (the smallest amount possible on the brush) just draw a tiny line around the outline of the face hair, apron and spoon. Then pick up a small amount of Worn Lipstick mixed with Tea Dye and so the same on the Dress, Shoes and Scarf

And Finally the finished card.

I have distress the lovely Magnolia Paper and used Worn Lipstick around the edge, the lush pink papers are Bo Bunny from The Hobby House, and all the roses are from Wild Orchid Crafts, I have also used the most stunning cream lace that I bought from Tab at Tabby Crafts. Colouring Tilda with Distress Inks - Face and Clothes

As promised another tutorial on colouring faces and clothes, so sorry it has taken so long to do this, as I have said I am no expert this is just the way I find easiest. To check on the equipment and papers I use please click Here. I have split the tutorial into 2 parts to make it easy to digest

Well I do hope you have a cup of tea or coffee by the side of you this is going to be a long post!!!

Flesh

Pick up a little Tattered Rose Ink on an almost dry brush, paint a thinnish line around the outline of the face, after wiping your brush to remove any residue ink, gradually work the ink into the centre of tildas face using small circular motions, leaving the middle of the face with hardly any colour at all. This should leave you image looking like the second one below.

Now dip the very edge of your paint brush into Tea Dye ink and mix with Tattered Rose, go around the edge of the face again this time include the cheek area, blending as above so you are left with an image looking like the second on here.

Now added Worn Lipstick and Tea Dye to the Tattered Rose, by just taking up a small amount of each colour on the brush and mixing on your tile (Pallet). Add a circle of colour to her cheeks and blend toward the hairline make sure you soften all edges to make sure there is no hard lines.

Paint a very thin line of Tea Dye around the whole of the face and blend with short feathering strokes

This is the look you are looking for when you have finished colouring the face, the legs are done in exactly the same fashion.

Dress & Apron

The same method is used to colour clothes, one tip I would give you for all your Distress Ink Colouring is to keep cleaning your brush throughout spreading colour, this enables you to get the shading you are aiming for, and to keep your brush almost dry, but not to dry that you cannot spread the ink around.

I have used Worn Lipstick for the dress Pocket and Scarf, you can see were I lay down the first thin layer of ink, then build up the colour as you go along as with the face.

This is how it should look after you have finished colouring

Apron

The Apron is a little bit different, I have laid down a very thin line of diluted Antique Linen along the lines of the petticoat, and also around the pocket, you want to give the impression that the apron is white or cream, so you don't want to spread the ink out so much, just go around the edges and softly feather the ink with a completely clean brush just to soften them

Socks and Shoes

Repeat the same process for the Apron on the socks.

and build up the colour as before on the shoes making sure you leave a lighter area where you have imagined the light hitting them.

Colouring James the Bear with Copics and Prismas

I have had a lot of requests for a tutorial on how I mix Copics and Prismas or Poly Chromos Pencils when colouring my images. I am not very good at these tutorials but I have decided to give it a try. I have used a Lili of the Valley James the Bear image for this tutorial.
Just a short note about Prismas & Faber Castell Polychromos pencils, these are really soft wax like pencils (quite expensive but really worth the money), they both do the same job so this tutorial work for both. Because of the soft wax like texture of the pencils you are able to spread them by using Paper Stumps and Low odour Solvent, I use Sansodor which is widely available from Art Shops. THERE IS ONE RULE WHEN COMBINING THE TWO MEDIUMS – THE PENCILS MUST BE USED AFTER YOU HAVE DONE ALL YOUR COLOURING WITH THE COPICS, - IT WILL COMPLETELY RUIN YOUR MARKERS IF THE NIBS COME INTO CONTACT WITH THE PENCILS OR THE SANSODOR. I use a small bottle with a sponge in and add Sansodor until the sponge is completely soaked this makes it easier to wet the nib of the paper stump.

To start colouring James apply Copic E53 around the hate and side of face as shown in picture one, then add E51 to bring the colour further out into the face making sure you also blend in E53 picture 2, finally using E50 go over the whole face blending in the 2 previous colours – picture 3

Using the same colours and method colour the rest of the fur as below.

Now for the Hat and Presents using R08 colour around the edges of the present and James Hat – picture 1, using the same method as for the fur now add R02 – picture 2, and finally add R000 – picture 3.

The last step is adding the final colour to the pre4sent and his foot and ear. BG13 has been used for the first step in colouring the blue present & ribbon, and R02 for the foot and ears – picture 1, the next blue to be added is BG11 & R000 is added to the rest of the foot and ears – picture 2. The last blue is BG10. You have now finished colouring James with the Copics and we will go on to the final step.

Now to add the deep shadows with the Pencils, The lines of pencil are a bit thicker than I would usually make them but this is try to make them easier for you to see. Add a thin line of BLACK pencil around the edges of the red hat and present – picture 1, then dipping the end of your stump into the sansodor, use the wet stump and small circular motions move the pencil out into the image – picture 2, then add dark brown pencil around the edges of fur picture 2, to complete blend out the brown as before – picture 3

Here is the image with all the steps completed

The final card has been made with Bo-Bunny Papers and Snowflakes punched with Martha Stewart Snowflakes Punches and glittered with Glamour Dust.

Part 2 of Simply Adorables Copics Colouring Tutorial

Here is the second part of the Copics and Polychromos/Prisma tutorial I promised. Before I start I will say that the photos are not too good as the light has been so bad today.

The Copics you will need for this one are: Coat B97, B95, B93, B91 Dress E71, E70, E40, Shoes E74, E71, E40 Socks and Collar C2

Starting with the darkest colour B97 colour a narrow band around the coat as in Picture 1, with B95 with circular movements blend in the darkest colour and bring out almost to the edge of the coat as in Picture 2

The final stage on this side of the coat is to blend the dark and medium colours with B93 and take colour right up to the edge as in Picture 3. Now we start on the other side of the coat, with B97 colour a narrow band around the edge and down the fold as in Picture 4 (these Simply Adorable stamps are fantastic for working out where to put your light and shade as the darker areas have been crossed hatched).

Add a narrow band of B95 blending as you go as in Picture 5, then blend in B93 bring out a little bit further into the body of the coat as in Picture 6.

All that is left to do on this side is to blend previous colours with B91 and take the colour right to the edge Picture 7. Colour in the Button Band starting with B95 at the top and Bottom and B93 in the middle and colour the sleeves using the same markers and method as for the coat Picture 8

Now we cam start on her dress, with E71 colour a narrow band along all the edges and dark lines Picture 9, blend and bring colour out into dress with E70 as in Picture 10

Complete colouring of dress with E40, and colour the dark lines on Hem with E71 Picture 11, complete Hem in the same way as the dress, Colour the Ribbon with B95 and B93, then colour the contrast band on her coat with B95 and E70 Picture 12

Using E71 and B95 colour both sides of each socks as in Picture 13 carry on colouring socks using small band of colour and using the lightest in the middle. Colour shoes as in Picture 14 with E74

Colour the rest of the top of the shoe with E70 leaving a light white space in both shoes Picture 15 Finally use C2 to colour folds in socks and edge of collar, and colour ribbon as for coat. Picture 16

As all the colours are quite dark you will just need a Black Prisma/Polychromos pencil for the clothes, draw a thin line with the pencil where the sleeve meets the coat, down the sides of the coat, along the waistline of the dress, down sides of dress, and down the edge of the folds on the hem, finally along all sides of the socks and shoes as in picture 17 (hope you can see this) . Finally blend all the black lines with Sansodor and Pencil stumps, your image should now look like Picture 18

A Little Colouring Tutorial – Colouring Face and hair on Simply Adorables

I have been asked how I colour the beautiful Suagr Nellie – Funky Kits Simply Adorable beauties, so I have come up with this little tutorial, I am not too good at taking photos and I am not trained in anyway so this is just my way of colouring, I hope it helps. This is part one “Colouring Face and Hair” part two will be later in the week.

I have used a stamped Image of Joy (see Karen they stamp perfectly dear), and I will start on the face, I always use these 3 Copics for flesh E21, E00, E0000 (Picture 1)

Starting at the hairline and using E21 just bring the colour out into the face (not too far) also use the same Copic to colour the cross hatched sections as in Picture 2, Now using E00 go over the previous colour with circular movements of your marker so the 2 colours are blended then bring E00 further out into the face as in Picture 3

Now using E0000 as before go over the previous colours and then complete colouring the face as in Picture 4. You will notice I have not coloured the neck at the same time as the face, I find the colours blend easier if you just colour one area at a time. Using E21 colour around the edge of the neck including the cross hatched area Picture 5.

colour the rest of the neck as the face using E00 and E0000, as for the face Pictures 6 and 7

The final step is to add colour to her cheeks. using R20 and starting at the hairline (in line with the corners of the eyes) stroke a little colour on to her cheeks Picture 8

I again use just 3 colours for the hair E53, E51, E50. With the darkest marker E53 colour along the hairline, The top of the fringe and wherever there are hatched areas as in Picture 10.

Now using E51 cover the previous colour as in the face and bring out into the centre leaving a small area of white Picture 11 , the next step is difficult to see as the colour is so light, cover the whole area of hair with E50 blending all the colours together as you go Picture 12

Now we come to the steps that give depth and warmth to your colouring, it is like magic, you will need a Medium Brown, light and medium Flesh coloured Prisma or Polychromos Pencil Sansodor Low Order Solvent available from any Art Shop and Paper Stumps. Picture 13

With the Medium Brown Pencil draw a line along the hairline, top of fringe,under bow , at side of bow, along the fringe and at edge of large crossed hatched areas, as in Picture 14 (I have used a darker pencil than I would normally use just to highlight the areas to be coloured). Now using a paper stump dipped into Sansodor using circular movements bring the colour out into the hair as in Picture 15

With the Light Flesh pencil draw a smooth thin line around the face and neck Picture 16 using exactly the same method as for the hair using Sansodor and Clean paper stump blend the Light Flesh. Picture 17.

Finally just add a little Medium Flesh to her cheeks and lips, this is the look you are aiming for Picture 18 .

Distress Ink Colouring – Henry Mouse

Colouring Henry
As promised I have tried to compose a distress ink colouring tutorial, now this is the first time I have ever attempted to do anything like this and I am no expert but I hope you can understand this and it helps with your colouring, this is just the way I do it and I am sure you will find lots of better composed tutorials on the blog. This tutorial was for colouring dear Whiff of Joy Christmas Henry, I chose to use Henry as an example as he only uses a couple of colours and I wanted to start simple, if you would like me to do another showing how I colour faces, hair and clothing I am quite willing now I have done one, just let me know as I have one half prepared.

These are my essentials, my beloved Fabriano HP Watercolour Paper Pad, available from Artifolk, it is quite expensive but well worth it, a fine brush (I like the size of this waterbrush but I do not fill up the tank with water as I like to have more control on the wet/dryness of the brush). A pad of kitchen roll, a plain white tile and of course distress ink pads or re-inkers, and last but not least Stazon Jet Black Ink a must !!!!!!!

I press the edges of the ink pads I will be using onto the tile, the little puddle in the middle is a couple of drops from a Tea Dye re-inker (my pad had run out).

Making sure your brush is just slightly damp pick up a little of the chosen ink and go around the edges of the feature to be coloured with a thin line of colour (here it is Tea Dye), wipe the brush on the kitchen roll and with soft circular movements spread the ink out wiping your brush often, when you have the effect you want just use the almost dry brush to make sure there is no harsh lines.

Here is the effect you are looking for.

Repeat the same process on the body and ears of Henry.

Again repeat for the tail. Then just build up the colour around the edges of the body head and ears just adding small amount of colour each time remembering to blend the edges

To get the right shade of pink for the ears and checks I blend a very small amount of Worn Lipstick ink with Tattered Rose, applying to the cheeks with little dots then joining them up with circular motions starting from the middle wiping the brush often work out towards the edges then back in again to soften edges. Apply a light wash of diluted Tea Dye ink to the tummy.

I have again gone around the edges with Tea Dye ink just to give good definition, ( I have would normally blend this a lot more so there was not such a definite change between the light and dark but I left it slightly unblended to help give you the idea) and following all the same rules add Worn Lipstick to the edge of the heart and then spread out.

And here is the finished Henry, hope this has helped you if you have any queries please ask me and if you would like anything included in the next tutorial that you may think I have skipped over please let me know, as I said this is my first tutorial and I am sure there are lots of gaps in here.
Finally my Finished card made with Henry, sorry about the dull colours, he is actually the colour of the image above but I couldn't get the lighting right as it was dark when I finished the card.

A Twist on an Easel card

I Posted this card on my blog yesterday and had a few enquires on how it was made so this was a good excuse to put a little tutorial on here, it is very easy so I don’t think you will need any photos.

This is basically the base of a 5.1/2” square Easel card, to begin cut a white A 4 sheet to 5.1/2” x 11”. then score and fold at 5.1/2” and 8.1/4” as you would for an easel card .

Now you have your base, you can get on with building up your card, you will need a 5.3/8” square and a rectangle measuring 5.3/8” x 2.5/8” from red card, and a 5.1/4” Square and 5.1/4” x 2.1/2” rectangle from your chosen backing paper, mat the backing paper onto the square and rectangle and attach the Square to the base of the card and the rectangle to the front of the mountain fold.

Colour and cut your image into a rectangle and mat onto red and white card leaving a thin edge of both colours around the image as shown in the card. Attach the image to the mountain fold just in from the edge, with extra strong double sided tape. You can then decorate to your hearts desire.

Easter Basket

Hi its Jacqui here and its my turn to try to pass on some inspiration. This is a tutorial for a very simple but effective Easter Basket, it would also make a lovely basket for Mothers Day.

First you need to assemble what you need for the basket,

I piece of Card 6” x 6”

I piece of card 2 “ x 8”

8 pieces matching Backing Paper 1.7/8” square

An Edge Punch

Glue, 2 Brads, Whiff of Joy image of your choice

Score the piece of 6” sq card 2” in from each of the four sides, cut along the solid lines and crease along the dotted lines

You should end up with your card as above.

Attach the 8 x 1.7/8” square to the scored and cut card as above.

Bring up two of the cut squares crossing the middle square, place one end of the handle (which I have punched with MS Border Punch), behind the square and attach both sides square and handle with a Brad.

This is how it should look on the inside of the basket.

Now repeat the process on the other side, and you have your finished basket.

Finish your basket off with as much or as little embellishments as you like, I have used the Tulip stamp from Whiff of Joy Spring Store Kit, with ribbon and pearls, (I have decorated both sides of the basket the same), then fill with lots of yummy Eggs.

Heart Box Tutorial

Hi Girls, today I would like to show you how to make a little heart shaped gift box, just perfect for those little Valentines Presents. It is a really easy box to make and I do hope you enjoy the tutorial:
For the Box you will need:
A piece of A3 card
Scalloped and Plain Heart Nesties
A Good Drys clear Adhesive
Acetate
Ribbon

Score and fold both of the long strips 1/4" from one long edge, then cut small triangles out along the length of the strip. Glue the 2" strip onto the plain heart easing it around the curves, make sure you glue this a little in from the scallops as you need to make the lid a little larger to fit.

Attach the acetate to the inside of the Lid with drys clear adhesive
Now you need to attach the sides to the box lid

Attach the 1.1/2" strip, that you have already scored, folded and cut, to the lid this time make sure the edge of the strip goes right up to the bottom of the scallops.

Before you stick the two edges of the strip together make sure the lid fits over the bottom of the box it is possible to adjust the size at this point.

Cut a heart from tissue to cover the workings on the bottom of the box and you have a heart box to decorate as you please.
